Brands do matter. We become bias to brands through television commercials and social ideas of what is "better". Brands can even show class differences because the popular brands tend to be more expensive. There are people that can afford to by the brand of Starbucks coffee, but others choose to buy McDonald's dollar coffee or make coffee at home to bring to work or school. Even in taste tests Mcdonald's coffee exceeds Starbucks, but we still choose to buy into the brand that Starbucks offers.
