Without reading these books about sociology I don't know how one would educate themselves on the sociological perspective. We commonly see ourselves as independent, our feeling and things we go through in life are also seen as independent acts, but learning the sociological perspective gives a more unified idea to our existence. It is not just one person loosing their job or dealing with crime there others experiencing similar situations. Viewing society has a whole allows for patterns to emerge and we understand more about the people within our society.
